Let Mishae Boren Represent You
Mishae Boren was raised in Tyler and has many ties to the East Texas community. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Psychology.
Before attending law school at Texas A&M University School of Law she interned at the Law Office of Bobby D. Mims P.C. It was here that her passion for criminal defense work was realized. In 2016, after graduating from law school and passing the bar exam she came to work at this law firm as an associate attorney. In 2018, Ms. Boren and Mr. Mims became law partners and formed Boren & Mims, PLLC.
Ms. Boren has tried numerous felony and misdemeanor cases to East Texas juries and has experience with cases from petty Theft all the way up to Capital Murder. She has been trained in DWI detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing techniques and blood alcohol analysis. She is also trained in expunctions/ non-disclosures of criminal records and mediation.
Ms. Boren believes that her experiences, education, and local upbringing give her a unique perspective and assist her to better understand the needs of her clients.
She is licensed to practice in the state of Texas and in the Eastern District of Texas federal court.
She is currently a member of the State Bar of Texas, Texas Bar College, Eastern District of Texas Bar Association, Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, Smith County Bar Association, Smith County Criminal Defense Lawyer Association, and the Women’s Section of the Smith County Bar Association.
She currently serves on the Smith County Bar Association Board of Directors, Smith County Bar Women's Section Co-Chair, Caldwell Arts Alliance Board of Directors, and is a past president of the Smith County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (2019-2020).

Bobby Mims is a frequent lecturer at criminal law seminars and provided presentations on various criminal defense issues.
Bobby regularly appears by request for assistance and opinions with the local media outlets.
Mr. Mims has obtained dozens of acquittals in Driving While Intoxicated cases. He is certified in the Standardized Field Sobriety Testing protocol as promulgated by the National Highway Safety Association. Recent statistics show that the acquittal rate for Mr. Mims’ clients on Driving While Intoxicated trials is over 90 percent of his cases taken to jury trials.
Bobby Mims has been a criminal defense attorney for more than 30 years in East Texas. He has handled thousands of cases in the State including Smith, Henderson, Rusk, Cherokee, Gregg, Wood, Panola, Upshur and Nacogdoches counties and numerous cases in the United States District Courts of Texas and Louisiana.
Mr. Mims is a Past-President of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, a member of the Smith County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the Cherokee County Bar Association, the Smith County Bar Association, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Mr. Mims is a Super Fellow of the Texas Lawyers Education Institute. He is on the faculty of the Texas Criminal Trial College and has served on the faculty of the Capital Trial Advocacy Program at the Center for American and International Law. Most recently he served on the 2016 State Bar of Texas advisory committee for the Advanced Criminal Law Seminar to further educate prosecutors, Judges, and other Defense attorneys.

Let Madeline Porter Represent You
Madeline Porter is from Tyler, Texas. She received her undergraduate degree in Communication with a minor in Spanish from Texas A&M University in College Station.
After receiving her undergrad degree, she attended the Texas Tech School of Law in Lubbock. While attending law school, Ms. Porter participated in numerous community activities benefitting surrounding youth. She was a member of the Texas Tech Dean’s Community Teaching Fellows. This organization assisted at-risk teens in Lubbock and the surrounding areas. This organization led her to pursue a path in Juvenile law. Also, she was the Texas Tech Aggie Bar Association President. As President, Ms. Porter managed to be a top contributor to the yearly fundraiser benefiting the Lubbock CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) group for children. Ms. Porter has been highly involved in mock trials starting in her high school years and she continued to participate in college and throughout law school. It is these experiences that have given her a passion for helping children and teens.
After graduating law school in May of 2017, she went to work as a misdemeanor prosecutor in the Smith County District Attorney’s Office. During her years there she never lost a jury trial. After leaving Smith County she joined the Sinclair Law Office and focused mostly on criminal, juvenile, and CPS cases. At Sinclair Law Office she was also trained in and assisted with other types of family law disputes and mediation. She hopes to bring her vast experience in criminal, juvenile, and family law to Boren & Mims.
She is licensed to practice in Texas and is currently a member of the State Bar of Texas, Smith County Bar Association, and the Smith County Young Lawyers (President).
